The Value of the Kingdom of God.

Introduction

The Kingdom of Heaven is like a treasure hidden in a field. People tend to attach value to a person based on what the person possesses. 1 Kings 19:19. People take care of what they value.

Elisha followed Elijah and asked for a double portion of Elijah’s anointing. It was because Elijah carried something of value within him.

Do not lose what you have

If we value the Kingdom of God, we shall show commitment to it. People also lose what they do not value. People lose the benefits of their salvation because they do not value what they have received.

1 Cor. 6:19. Our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit. We are bought with the precious blood of Jesus Christ, not by gold and silver. John 1:10-13. We must understand that we are children of God. We are not ordinary people.

Guard your heart and love knowledge

1 Samuel 16:6-7 – People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart. proverbs tells us to guard our hearts, as “out of it flows the issues of life.” Love knowledge. The Bible says, my people perish for lack of knowledge.

Value the Power of Your Faith in God

Hebrews 11:24-26. Moses used faith to leave Egypt. Great men of faith used great faith to make great decisions, trusting in God. Faith has given us security for eternal life. It has secured our future with God.

Many people have touched the anointing and the power of God, and they did wonders by the power of God, then lost it all. Miracles no longer happen in their prayers, because they lost value if what they had.

Seek good company, seek righteousness

Bad company corrupts good morals. Avoid people who avoid the things of God. Walk with people who love prayer, fasting, a walk with God. Put your priorities right. Matthew 6:33. Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and all these things shall be added unto you. Philippians 3:7-11. Seek the righteousness of Christ. Keep people who will give you the right counsel. 2 Samuel 13.1. Jonadab misled Amnon to rape his sister Tamar, a great abomination that led to his death.

Daniel 1:3. Daniel chose not to defile himself (v8) with the food of the king. For this God showered Daniel with His favour.

Conclusion

Make a resolution that going forward, as we slowly get to a new year, that we shall not be swayed from the things that are of value even to God.
