1 Corinthians 11.23-34
Sacrifice
God can say different/ new things from the same text of His word.
Jesus had to suffer for Him to be ready for us.
Paul received a life of sacrifice that he could actually offer himself as a sacrifice.
Paul truly did offer himself as a sacrifice. He went through all manner of suffering that he could be an example to us.
We also need to sacrifice ourselves.
The dictionary defines sacrifice as slaughtering an animal or giving our possessions to the Lord.
Biblically, we are to sacrifice:
1. Our time. We need to sacrifice our variable time to the Lord.
2. Our possessions. Either actual money or money’s worth.
3. Give our energies for the work of the Lord.
4. Offer whatever the Lord requires of us. For example, there may be an impromptu crusade and we are required to attend.
