Introduction
These are words from Jesus telling His disciples how to live.
Luke 6 from verse 20, He says : Bless those who curse you and pray for those who mistreat you. They were told to give to all.
The verse of interest is, Luke 6:38 which says: Give and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.
Christian Giving
Today is the first giving of 2022. There were people going to Canaan who slackened. Joshua 18:1-2. The children of Israel had started to possess but slackened as they were about to subdue it. The Presbyter had a vision for the building and a drawing was made. Some may say the building is complete and we can use it. Joshua told them they had not finished and should not slacken. We must remain focused and increase our giving. When famine is ending it becomes intense but if you overcome it, all will be well. God is waiting for us to finish to draw over 700 people to fill the sanctuary. We have to energize ourselves.
When the children of Israel relaxed, they could not be able to chase away the inhabitants of the land. Samson was raised to destroy the Philistines but he did not do it, so Goliath was part of the terror that came later. If the parents had finished their work against the Philistines, Canaanites, and Jebusites, then they would have been able to possess all the land and not become thorns to them. It is for us to fish the sanctuary so that God can do His work in Thika town. Let us finish the sanctuary and embark on possessing Thika town, in salvation. We can’t afford to go slowly. Give today and completely. Our children can come to do other projects. We should all be in the sanctuary but not some being outside like now.
Luke 6:38. We live by faith. Give and it will be given back to you, pressed down, shaken together, and running over. Increase your measuring container. If you give in one measure you will receive in the same measure only pressed down and running over. Give to one and give to many.
2 Cor 9:10. The one who supplies seed will give you seed. Whatever you have is your seed and if you give you will get it back. Jesus said this. How much are you sowing? Have you asked the giver for the seed?
Conclusion
Purpose to increase the measure of your giving. You will be blessed until you bless the Lord, in every way. God is no man’s debtor. God will always reward generous givers. Those who are stingy will not prosper. Let’s finish this project this year.
