Breaking from the Night Season into a Fresh Season with God
- Sermon By: Pastor Samuel Kiiru
- Categories: Main Service
Chronicles 15:7 (KJV):
Be ye strong therefore, and let not your hands be weak: for your work shall be rewarded.
Introduction
Despite the fact that we are living in difficult times, the grace of God has been sufficient. Therefore the Lord has a timely word of courage: Don’t give up; keep going strong and your work will be rewarded. Therefore, do not be discouraged with the opposition which you may possibly face.
These words in the scriptures were spoken to Asa, the King of Judah, who wanted to bring about a reform, yet he faced a difficult time doing so. However, King Asa did not give up and, in time, all the people sought the Lord and God blessed them.
God Works Best Behind the Scenes
You may have recently gone through a difficult situation, where you prayed for God to bring about a change. You may have laboured every week and even wondered, “Why do I bother – why do I do this without anyone even noticing, or without any appreciation from anyone?”
There are times in all our lives when we’re praying and believing, yet we don’t see anything changing. We can feel alone and forgotten. It’s a night season. Though we can’t see what God is doing, He is working behind the scenes. He does His greatest work in the dark. Your story doesn’t end in the night. Keep moving forward in faith, keep believing. The bad breaks, the disappointments, the losses, and the sicknesses are simply additional steps on the way to your destiny. It’s just a matter of time before the morning breaks forth.
Stand firm
As a young man, David spent years running from King Saul, hiding in caves, sleeping in the desert. He may have prayed, “God, deliver me from Saul. This is not right.” But it was as though the heavens were silent. God didn’t change it. It was a night season – a time of testing and a time of proving.
Scripture states that the testing of our faith develops perseverance. The Greek word for “perseverance” is, “Hypomone”, meaning, “endurance, patience, standing firm”. No matter how hard it seems, no matter how difficult situations or circumstances may appear, stand firm. Stay strong and do not give in and your work will be rewarded. Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.
Conclusion
Keep being faithful in the things of God, in your prayer life, in reading your Bible, in putting into action what you believe, in serving the Lord. God sees your deeds. He sees the motivation of your heart, God takes notice of your service of sacrifice for Him and He will reward you: “But as for you, be strong and do not give up, for your work will be rewarded.” – 2 Chronicles 15:7 (NIV).
It’s just a matter of time before your morning breaks forth.
