THE NAME OF JESUS IS THE ANSWER TO OUR CRISIS

CRISIS: an issue you cannot solve and you have no way to deal with it.
GOOD NAME: a person of high standing among others, it carries dignity, good report, honour, prestige and reputation that when mentioned it causes the difference.
* A good name is more desirable than great riches Proverbs 22:1.
*A good name is better than fine perfume. Eccl 7:1.
*How do we obtain a name:?
1. Given by our parents or people, others because of seasons guided by customs.
2. By our own choice: we choose names by ourselves and desires.

*Act 19: 17-19: Sceva was chief priest, he had seven sons who went around driving out evil spirits and tried to invoke the name of the Lord Jesus over those who were demon-possessed.
They saw a man and thought they could cast out demons, that man overpowered them all. He gave them such a beating that they ran out of the house naked.

PURPOSE OF THE NAME
1. For identification.
2. To be differentiated.
3. For inspiration: makes us feel good.
Proverbs 18 10: the name of the Lord is a strong tower.
The power and benefit of the name of Jesus is high than any other name.
BENEFITS OF THE NAME OF JESUS
1. We obtain salvation:
Acts 4:12 salvation is found in Christ alone,
Roman 10:13
2. We secure healing:
Acts 3:6 Peter told the lame to walk in the name of Jesus
3. Guarantees justification: 1cor 6:11. We are justified by the name of the Lord.
4. Cast out demons through the name of Jesus.
Mark 16: 17. The devil becomes powerless once the name of Jesus is mentioned.
5 . Power of Attorney: we represent Jesus here on earth.

May God help us to be wise and know where to stand and obtain a good and better name.
