Introduction
Our God is a good God and desires for us to enlarge and stretch our tents. However, there are certain factors that may limit us from stretching.
INHIBITORS TO ENLARGEMENT.
1.Sin– It robs us of the joy of salvation and makes us blind and weak
Psalms 52:12, “Restore to me the joy of your salvation and uphold me by your generous spirit.”
Sin quietens the teaching ministry of the Holy Spirit.
Job 17:8-9- Sin makes us weaker and weaker therefore we must deal with the little foxes that spoil our vineyards.
2.Pride- God hates pride
1st Peter 5:5, “Likewise you younger people, submit yourselves to your elders. Yes, all of you be submissive to one another, and be clothed with humility for God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.”
When you are motivated by pride it will bring shame and dishonour to you. Proverbs 11:2 & Proverbs 29:23
3.Comfort Zones– God wants to increase and enlarge us therefore we must come out of our comfort zones. We cannot dwell at Mt. Horeb forever, we must extend our boundaries like Jabez. It is time to do the extra ordinary.
4.Bad company– 1st Corinthians 15:33, “Do not be deceived, evil company corrupts good habits.”
Your company may prevent you from enlarging or stretching. If you are found among bad company there is a high likelihood of compromise and that will make you a failure.
5.Reliance on your own strength and understanding.
Proverbs 3:5- “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.”
For you to enlarge you must be God centered. Do not use your past history to assume victory for present battles.
CONCLUSION
Whatever we commit to the Lord will be completed well. He who started the good work within us is faithful to bring it to completion.
