Midwifing God’s Purpose Through Prayers

Midwives are very important in the birth of a child.
Without a very good and well trained midwife, the life of an unborn child and the mother can be at stake. And there is a time even the expecting mother relies solely on the midwife for her life and the life of her yet to be born child.
Jeremiah 29.11
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

You need to midwife the plans and purpose that God has for you through prayers.
Proverbs 19. 21
_Many are the plans in a person’s heart,
but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails._

1 Corinthians 3.5-15
Paul is speaking about the increase that God brings in our lives.
For that increase to come, Paul says, there has to be someone to plant and someone to water.
For what God has placed in our lives to increase, we need, as it was in the early church, ‘Pauls’ and ‘Apollos’ to water that which the Lord has placed in our lives.
Whatever God has given you, figuratively put as precious stones and gold, you need to refine it and improve it through prayer.
Sometimes God gives us something but we get it through very many difficulties.
Anna was the midwife during the birth of our Lord Jesus.

Luke 2.36-38
God used Prophet Anna to pray for the birth of Jesus.
She was widowed at a very young age and for about 60 years she was praying day and night for the successful birth of Jesus and that is why everything went on well.
Because of her prayers the purpose of God regarding the birth of Jesus was not frustrated.
Everything regarding the birth of Jesus went according to God’s plan. I believe that this was due to the over 60 years of prayers by people like Prophet Anna.

Whatever purpose that God has over our lives, we need to water it through much prayer and fasting so that it can come to pass.
During the time leading to Jesus’ death, He asked his disciples to pray but they were not able to pray.
Mark 14.35-38
Jesus did this three times and in all of them He found His disciples sleeping.
The result of the disciples not praying was that Peter denied Jesus three times. Peter also became carnally minded and even when the soldiers came to arrest Jesus, he took the matter personally and even cut one of the soldier’s ear with a sword.
These same things can also happen to us when we neglect prayers.
We need to water our salvation with prayers so that we do not reach the place of Peter where we operate in a carnal way.
We need to make sure that our plans are in line with the purpose of God.
We need to continue with prayers so that whatever we are expecting we can midwife it through prayers.

As Kenyans and as believers;
We need to pray for our country this year when we shall have our elections. We need to pray for a good government and good leaders. This will be determined by whether we are going to pray and midwife the coming of good leaders through prayers.

We need to pray for a good transition,
We need to pray so that we don’t end up with a messy transition.

We need to pray and our prayers need to be in line with the purpose of God.
We need not give excuses for not praying.
The Lord says that He will renew our strength so that we are renewed as Eagles.
Even for those who are sick, He is the Lord that heals us.
There is no reason why we should not come for prayers and midwife the purpose of God for our lives and nation.
God has a good plan for each and everyone of us. All that is going to come to pass when we water it through prayers. This will allow us to be in line with the purpose of God.
Every form of success we desire, whether academic, financial, career or ministerial, you need to midwife that success through prayers.

Conclusion
The Joyful Assembly has provided enough opportunities for us to pray freely within the church.
When you sleep, the giants will go to the next generation. When we don’t pray, we can find ourselves struggling a lot.
