IMPLICATIONS OF TAKING THE HOLY COMMUNION

Introduction.
Jesus Christ spoke this word talking to us about the importance of Holy communion.
As youths, we should distinguish ourselves as a people to whom the mantle will be passed on to.
We are living in times when some of the doctrines can disappear into oblivion as has happened in some churches.
This doctrine of holy communion is central to our lives. Unless we see the centrality of the importance of the holy communion we have no life in ourselves.
Eternal life is kind of pegged on partaking of the Holy communion.
It’s a central doctrine that cannot be overlooked in our Christian life.

What do we gain out of taking holy communion:
1. The holy communion helps us to remember the body broken and the blood of Jesus Christ that was poured for our sins. The body and the blood are symbolic to us to remind us of the suffering and agony of Jesus Christ for us. He suffered because of us.

2. It demonstrates the amount of love that Christ had for us. The broad arms that the Lord has for you and me.

2. It reminds us about the centrality of salvation. You cannot participate in holy communion unless you are born again. You have no life in yourself because you have not received Jesus Christ as your personal savior.
There are four stages of salvation;
a) Have faith in God. Trust in the one you’re surrendering your life to.
b) Repentance through confession of sin
c) Water baptism. This is the public display of what has happened in your heart.
d) Infilling of the Holy Spirit.

These are the works of grace that are seen through out scripture. It is important to have the desire to complete the four stages.

4. It reminds us the necessity of self examination, repentance and confession for we are sinners saved by grace. 1 Cor 11:23- Holy communion remind us of self examination and to go before God in confession. When we judge ourselves we are lead to repentance.

5. It assures us of our spiritual and physical nourishment. We are reminded that God has taken care of both spiritual and physical needs. Jesus Christ says he was beaten for our healing and also various provisions. Symbolically bread in the bible speaks of needs. When we have issues and problems we can appeal to God even as we take communion for He has guaranteed all these.

Conclusion
It’s a joy to know that Holy communion represents the words of Jesus Christ that
If you do not partake of it you have no life in of yourself, you have no salvation, you are living as an unappreciative person.
God is the cause of our life enjoyment.
Jesus Christ went to the cross for our sins.
Holy Communion has something to do with you and and has something to do with me and helps us to live the Christian life.
