    I AM A MINISTER

    Reference Scriptures: 2 Corinthians 5:17-21

    Introduction

The Bible says that if you have been saved, you have become a new creation. As a young person, you may have indulged in negative things that would make you feel unworthy. 1Tim 1:12-13. Paul persecuted and injured those who were following Christ not just by word of mouth but through His actions. Nevertheless, Jesus was kind enough to make him a minister. Today if you could just put off all you have in your mind that is negative, you could see yourself as a minister, somebody who is worthy to stand before the congregation of the saints and be able to pray for and walk with somebody.

Things That you need to make you a Better Minister

    Pray

Jesus told His disciples in Matthew 17:20-21.”However, this kind does not go out except by prayers and fasting” You need to be in a position where you can say you are praying for your ministry, be able to pray for what God has deposited in you can be made manifest. As a minister, you do not just consider yourself but must consider others as well. To be able to get to a place where you consider others better than you, you have to be very prayerful. As a minister, you have to be ready to sacrifice your time, be ready to pray, and be ready to sacrifice your material and financial resources without expecting to be compensated by anyone.

    Seek to Have Power

A minister must have power and we have our power through prayer. Jesus told His disciples in Luke 10:19.You should have the power to trample over snakes and scorpions. This is a promise we have in God Jesus did not just refer to physical snakes and scorpions He also referred to spiritual giants that come to pull us down. In order to overcome them and be winners and victors as ministers, we need that power.

    You Need Wisdom

As a minister sometimes you will need wisdom. Wisdom to love and serve others walk and even pray for and with them.1Tim4:12 ”Let no one despise your youth…”Let no one despise your youth neither within nor without. Sometimes we just despise ourselves. You should count yourself as a worthy minister.

    Be Ready to Listen

2 Cor 5:20 – this is the ministry of reconciliation, the ministry of listening to people. They will come up with their problems and also come up with their solutions. At the end of the day, all you do is just pray for them and reconcile them to their family and friends or even God. As a minister, you have the ministry of reconciling people to God or even reconciling people to themselves.

    Be Welcoming

Invite a brother or sister for a tête-à-tête. Be generous too. Welcoming and generous are two different things. Evangelize through your day-to-day life and be generous. Use the internet wisely.

    Conclusion

2 Cor 4:1-2 Never use deception or tricks in ministry. Just be yourself and God will use you because you are a full minister just the way you are. As we stand for Jesus as ministers God will help us to be worthy ministers. We should not be afraid. Encourage yourselves in the Lord and stand for Jesus.
