GREAT OBSTACLES ARE BROKEN WHEN WE TRUST AND OBEY

    Reference Scriptures: 1st Samuel 21:10-15, Deuteronomy 31:6

    Introduction
    * This year already has many challenges and things that can cause us to fear
    * According to 1st Samuel 21:10-15, David was in great distress and faced an obstacle before him.
*An obstacle is defined as something that blocks/hinders and it prevents progress.
    * Everyone of us is likely to have faced an obstacle that caused us to lose hope.
    * There are 5 things that may cause us to face obstacles.
    1. Jealousy – Saul was jealous of David because of the praises he received yet Saul possessed greater power. We shouldn’t fear jealous enemies because God will see us through in these situations.
    2. Rivals– One person’s jealousy can lead to fellow rivals rising against you despite the fact that you may be blameless. Even in such situations, the Lord promises to deliver us.
    3. Fights between rivals- Your enemies may be fighting against each other and cause you to get into trouble. However, the Lord promises to deliver us from those troubles.
    4. Powerful rivals– Some rivals may be very influential in the land so they could have the ability to really frustrate you. Even in such situations, God has promised to deliver us.
    5. Your environment– The environment around you may turn against you but God assures us that He will help us.
    Conclusion
    * Some challenges may have been with us for a very long time and others may seem so magnified. The Lord’s hand is not shortened that it cannot save us.
    * The more desperate a situation looks, the more the Lord assures us of His deliverance
