Dedication of children

Scripture: Matthew 19:14-15

Introduction
Each of us comes from a family and we are raising children too. In Chrisco, children are only dedicated, baptism is left for them to make the decision at the right age when they get saved

Responsibility of Parents;
According to Proverbs 22:6, Parents have the responsibility of bringing up children in the ways of God and that includes bringing them to church and teaching them the word of God.

As a parent train a child and the child should accept to be trained.
If a child has left the ways of God, the parents should not be worried because they did their part. The child will be back at the right time.

Our main responsibility as parents is to pray for our children.

How to bring up children;
Deuteronomy 6:2-20
The word of God according to this text should be in the hearts of the children of Israel.
The word should also be taught to the children.

1. To diligently teach the children the word of God.
As a parent you need to have the word of God so that you can teach it
You teach the word by;
1. speaking it to the children.
2. having the word of God written everywhere in the house.

2. It is also important to buy the children things with the word of God.
Deuteronomy  6:9
– Children will grow to ask questions. As a parent it is your responsibility to
give these children answers. This is according to verse 20 of Deuteronomy.

3. Give children a testimony of what God has done.
It is important that children understand where their parents came from and how
God has worked through their parents lives to where they are today. That way they will be able to testify of God’s goodness
