The purpose of Jesus Christ’s first coming

    Introduction

The first coming has already happened. Jesus Christ descended from heaven, took on humanity, and became God incarnate; where divine and human became one. Then he lived a sinless life, died a cruel death, rose victoriously from the dead into an immortal body, and ascended into heaven literally and bodily.

The purpose of Jesus Christ’s first coming:

    °Love

We have come to know, and have believed in the love which God has for us. The love that God has for us is the ground of our becoming loving people. And the root that we send down into that ground, to be nourished by it, is faith—”we have believed the love that God has for us.” Believing the depth of God’s love for me is the key to my growing into a loving person. John 3:16, Proverbs 20:27

    °To reveal the Father.

And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent. John 17: 3 Jesus came to this earth so that we might learn to know better what God is like. The Apostle John says, “The Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us” (John 1:14). The Apostle Paul says, “For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shone in . . . the face of Jesus Christ” (2 Corinthians 4:6).

° To put away our sins.

John declares that Jesus Christ was manifested “to take away our sins” (1 John 3:5). The words “take away” simply mean that He removes the guilt and punishment of sin by paying the price. The angel said to Joseph, “And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from their sins” (Matthew 1:21).

° Jesus came to destroy the work of the devil.

The “works of the devil” are the sins that human beings commit. Satan is the one who lures us into temptation, and then we find it easy to let unholy desires give birth to sin Ephesians 5:8..- 11 [8]For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light. To bring light to the Dark. The Apostle Paul calls them “works of darkness” in Romans 13:12 and again in Ephesians 5:11. The passage in 1 John 3:8 suggests that the works of the devil (our sins) can become like chains that bind us. And For this purpose was the Son of God manifested, that He might loosen and set people free from the works of the devil.

° To Prepare for a Second coming..

    – The first coming of Jesus was merely the preparation for a great consummation that is still to come.
    – The text in Hebrews 9:28 says that Christ shall appear a second time. One cannot read the New Testament carefully without coming to the conclusion that the Christ who came is still to come.
The angel said at the time of Jesus’ ascension into Heaven, “This same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go” (Acts 1:11). Jesus is not coming a second time to put away sin. He is coming a second time to complete our salvation. He came for the first time as the Author of salvation. He is coming the second time as the Finisher of our faith.

    Conclusion .

The greatest example who ever walked the earth is our Savior, Jesus Christ. His earthly ministry was filled with teaching, serving, and loving others. So lets all-purpose to follow His example and move forward by faith as we wait for His second coming.
