SEEING CORRECTLY: HOW TO EXPERIENCE YOUR VICTORY

Reference Scriptures: Jeremiah 1:11-12 Jeremiah 1:4-7

    Introduction
Your victory could be a miracle that you really want. I could be a successful walk in your faith. It could be better relationships with your family or friends or co-workers. Our perception defines who we believe we are, how we believe our interactions with others should go, and how we believe the world should operate. It is through this lens that we view all experiences and conflicts around us. We must also understand the context in which scripture is written and apply it in our lives.

Learn to see correctly: Work on how you perceive things.

Jer. 1:4-6, then 7. He had considered himself wrong. Jump to Jer. 1:11-12. “You have seen correctly.” Numbers 13:26-33. We seemed like grasshoppers, and so were we before them… One day Jesus looked at Jerusalem and wept. The Bible records why, in the Book of Luke 19:41-44. They were not seeing things correctly. So they were not able to see the time of their visitation. Jeremiah 29:11 says For I know the plan I have for you, plans for good and not for evil: plans to give you hope and a future. But you must know the time of your visitation. Stay alert. Seek to see things correctly. 1 Corinthians 8:2. Romans 8:37: No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 1 Peter 2:9 – But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. Jeremiah 31:3 – “I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness.

Learn and use the scriptural power of “Therefore”

Therefore means: for that reason…; consequently… because of that… as a result… In so doing, you will be able to know the justification of what is expected of you by scripture. For example, In your prayer and fasting: 1 Peter 4:7 – The end of all things is near. Therefore be alert and of sober mind so that you may pray. In spiritual warfare: Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Ephesians 6:13. In your relationships: Romans 13:10 – Love does no harm to a neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law. It’s in obedience to scripture that you have your blessings. The Lord has laid a foundation through the love of Christ for us, for things we should do in order to have our prayers heard. For instance, Malachi 2:14 implies that without a good relationship with our spouses, he may ignore our prayers. This reinforces the same expectation in the Book of Colossians about family relationships. Be careful with your ego in relationships – when you have a hammer, everything looks like a nail.

Learn the wisdom of fighting your battles

Ephesians 6:12 tells us who our real enemy is: For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms (NIV). Get to know your enemy: Peter 5:8 says, …Your enemy, the devil, roams around like a lion roaring [in fierce hunger], seeking someone to seize upon and devour. Mark 9:29 – So He said to them, “This kind can come out by nothing but prayer and fasting.” Luke 14:30-32. – Get to differentiate between your enemy and a gate keeper. Prov. 20:18 – Set plans by consultation, and wage war under sound guidance.

    Conclusion

God wants to give us the victory but He wants to grow and mature into spiritual warriors in the process. May the Lord help us to perceive things correctly, learn and use the scriptural power of “Therefore” and have the wisdom of fighting our battles.
